pro.manchester establishes centre for business angels research

pro•manchester has recently established CENBAR the centre for business angels research in association with the pro•manchester Business Angels Network Group and the three business schools of Greater Manchester.

Manchester Business School, MMU Business School and Salford University Business School are together engaged in this important project to stimulate innovation and enterprise in the city.

The objectives of CENBAR are to raise the profile of business angel investment in Manchester, to increase connectivity with high net worth individuals, pension funds and family trusts and to assist in the process of linking innovation and enterprise to advice and finance.

Key research will be undertaken into the formal estimation and regular review of business angel investment in Manchester and the North West. Further work will be undertaken in to a better understanding and clarification of the angel investment process. Clarification of questions such as, is my project investor ready, the filter process, how to improve my chances of success will emerge from the CENBAR agenda.

CENBAR will produce guidelines on :

                How to locate business angel networks
                What information will I need?
                What personal qualities will I need.
                How to prepare an investment plan.
                How to prepare a business plan.
                Guidelines to making the pitch.
                Ten reasons why projects hit the bin.
                Ten ways to enhance the chance of securing investment at the first attempt.
                The ten do’s and don’ts of securing angel investment.
