"ICE" Niche Market Project
What is it about?
pro.manchester is currently undertaking a project in conjunction with a number of its partners, NWDA and The Commission for the New Economy in a piece of work funded by the NWDA to explore potential opportunities for the Financial and Professional sector in Manchester and the North West in three Niche Markets
I - Islamic Finance C- Carbon Trading E - Ethical Finance
Why?
Working with its partners pro.manchester is constantly trying to find and to create opportunities for its members in the Financial and Professional sector both directly and indirectly in terms of
- job creation - increased inward investment into the Region - growing and creating markets - skills transfers and expansions and opportunities to be exploited.
With these overarching drivers in mind and with the help of the Commission For the New Economy and the Financial and Professional Forum Group these three areas were identified as having the potential to meet these region wide objectives for a variety of reasons including:
- Geography of region - Skills mix within region - Relative youth of each of three areas - Ability to innovate and exploit within those areas - People/work force within the region
Where is it going? Currently each of the three niche markets are being examined to establish whether there are real opportunities for the Financial and Professional sector more closely. As findings are made known we will share these with you.
Where do Members come in? Take part! we're keen to actively engage with our Members to understand their first hand experiences of working within any of these three ICE niche markets to determine what the issues are in breaking into or operating within those markets; or just to hear your views generally.
