Skills Committee Aims
The pro.manchester Skills Committee members are Manchester-based professionals who are committed to making a difference to skills in the Greater Manchester area. Skills Committee members work within the legal, accountancy, finance, marketing/PR, training, banking, insurance, property and academic sectors. Tricia Chatterton, Business Development Director, The College of Law, chairs the Committee.
The objectives of the committee are as follows:
- Develop and improve linkages between financial & professional firms and academia in order to communicate employers’ skills needs and enhance the employability of graduates.
- Support effective leadership and management development programmes within middle tier and smaller financial and professional firms, and the introduction of CPD initiatives at every level within the financial and professional community
- Develop and support initiatives to develop knowledge and skills within the corporate community across the region.
- To work closely with Skills councils, professional bodies and sector specific organisations to increase the skills of the membership.
