Menzies LLP, one of the UK’s leading business advisory and accountancy firms, has strengthened its leadership team with six partner appointments across its Audit, Assurance and Deal Advisory teams. The appointments reflect the firm’s continued growth, and investment in specialist expertise to support clients at every stage of their business journey.

  • Andrew Collier, Audit and Accounts Partner at the firm’s London office.
  • Grant Lee, Audit Partner for Real Estate, Private Equity Portfolio Companies and Tech firms at the firm’s Heathrow office.
  • George Shillam, Audit and Assurance Partner for not-for-profit, housing and charity sectors at the firm’s London office.
  • Elizabeth Hatchman, Audit, Risk Assurance and Advisory Partner for the not-for-profit sector at the firm’s London office.
  • David Ellis, Deal Advisory Partner in Menzies’ Leatherhead office.
  • Dean Curtis, Corporate Finance and Deal Advisory Partner in Menzies’ Manchester office.

Menzies has significantly expanded its Audit & Assurance leadership, with four partner appointments across technical audit, real estate, social housing and not-for-profit sectors. These hires deepen the firm’s capacity to support complex audits, PIE clients, and organisations operating in heavily regulated environments.

Andrew Collier joined Menzies in November 2022 as a Technical Director and has now progressed to Partner. He leads audit quality and compliance and supports teams with complex financial reporting matters. Andrew played a key role in securing Menzies’ Public Interest Entity (PIE) auditor registration with the Financial Reporting Council as part of its merger with Beever and Struthers, and represents Menzies on the ICAEW’s Technical and Practical Audit Committee (TPAC).

Grant Lee joined Menzies in October 2025, following Partner roles at PwC and Gerald Edelmen, where he led the firm’s property sector. With more than 20 years’ experience advising real estate investment businesses, private equity backed companies and operationally focused tech businesses in London and across the Thames Valley, Grant delivers insight-driven audits that strengthen financial controls and governance. He has led regulatory, due diligence and change management projects and is known for supporting clients through periods of significant market uncertainty, including the financial crisis and post-COVID environment.

George Shillam joins the firm through its merger with Beever & Struthers, having originally joined the firm as a trainee in 2014. He leads a portfolio of not-for-profit clients and social housing clients, overseeing external and internal audits, service charge reviews, consultancy and regulatory investigations. George also fronts the firm’s Homes England and Greater London Authority grant compliance work. With a strong focus on helping clients navigate a period of significant regulatory and financial change, his career highlight to date includes signing off some of the same clients he worked on as a trainee after completing his Responsible Individual (RI) qualification in 2022.

Elizabeth Hatchman also joins Menzies through merger, having worked at Beever & Struthers since 2010. She specialises in audit and assurance work for housing associations, leading external audit engagements, oversees grant assurance and service charge examinations, including management of PIE audits. Liz has been an RI since 2017, and plays a key role in developing people and teams across the Birmingham and London offices. She is a regular speaker at National Leasehold Group conferences on service charge compliance, and has been integral in establishing grant assurance as a key growth area for the firm.

Menzies continues to grow its national Deal Advisory offering, increasing its deal capacity across the South East and North West, and strengthening support for entrepreneurs and owner-managed businesses navigating complex transactions.

David Ellis joins Menzies’ Leatherhead office from Azets, where he was a Corporate Finance Partner. He brings extensive experience advising business owners on acquisitions, sales and strategic transactions, including the €17 million sale of Defluo to Kanalservicegruppe (a portfolio company of Ufenau Capital Partners). He is focused on helping clients navigate transactions that shape their business and personal ambitions, and contributing to Menzies continued growth.

Dean Curtis joins Menzies’ Manchester office as part of the firm’s Beever & Struthers merger. With more than 18 years’ experience, he will guide entrepreneurs and owner-managed businesses through corporate transactions including business sales, acquisitions and growth fundraising. Dean brings a calm, solutions-focused approach to high-stakes situations and enjoys guiding clients through pivotal moments across MBOs, private equity and strategic acquisitions.

Simon Massey, Managing Partner at Menzies LLP, said: “These senior appointments mark a significant milestone in Menzies’ continued momentum. By expanding our leadership across Audit & Assurance, Deal Advisory and Restructuring & Insolvency, we are strengthening the depth of expertise available to our clients and accelerating the development of our Strategic Advisory offering. The continued expansion of our Deal Advisory team is central to this, enabling us to support clients through every stage of their business lifecycle – from growth and funding to transactions and beyond.”

“The integration of Beever & Struthers has not only broadened our national reach, it has brought exceptional leadership talent into the business – and I am delighted to see several individuals stepping into partnership roles as part of this journey. Each new senior leader embodies our Brighter Thinking approach. Their specialist knowledge and sector focus will help shape the evolution of our services as we continue to scale.”
