Introduce yourself
Hello everyone! I’m James, the Head of Property Management at Philip James. I’ve been working in the property industry for over a decade and have spent the last two fantastic years here at Philip James. My passion is making sure our clients have a seamless and successful experience, helping them get the absolute best out of their property portfolios and making sure our tenants enjoy the best properties Manchester has to offer.
Career highlight
While there have been many memorable moments, I’m most proud of the journey my career has taken me on. Making the switch to the property industry in my mid 20s was a brilliant decision, and I feel a real sense of achievement in having been able to grow, learn and progress continuously ever since.
Name three words that describe your personality
I’d have to go with enthusiastic, positive, and persistent!
What’s the best thing about pro-manchester?
Without a doubt, it’s the people! We’re new members, but the energy and positivity from the pro-manchester team and at the events has been amazing. It’s a genuinely welcoming community, and I’m excited about the opportunity to connect with so many other great businesses and people.
What are your priorities for 2026?
My main focus is navigating the upcoming changes from the Renters’ Rights Bill. It’s a top priority for me to ensure we guide our clients through the new legislation seamlessly, so we can continue delivering the exceptional service that we’re known for
What do you think are the most important things going on in Manchester at the moment?
It’s impossible not to be excited by the sheer energy and growth in Manchester right now! The ever-evolving skyline is a testament to the city’s ambition and makes it such a vibrant place to be. For anyone interested in property, the ongoing investment creates fantastic opportunities for landlords to begin or expand their portfolios in a city that’s truly thriving.
Favourite meeting place in Manchester
You can’t beat the atmosphere of a great independent coffee shop. I much prefer informal meetings where conversation can really flow. You’ll often find me at places like Gran T’s, Foundation, or Ezra & Gil – the buzz is perfect for a friendly and productive chat.
Are there any particular types of businesses that you would like to meet?
Honestly, I’m keen to connect with any business where there might be a chance to work together in the future, or individuals who have an interest in the Manchester property market. I’d especially love to meet people who share my passion for Manchester and its incredible property scene, whether you own, manage, or simply live in and love our city!
