20th February 2026, 3:15 pm
Leadership consultant and former criminal barrister Sharon Amesu will headline a special edition of the Bold and Brave series in Manchester this March.
Taking place on Wednesday 4 March 2026 at Blackfriars House, the evening event will see Amesu in conversation with Michael Taylor, editor of TheBusinessDesk.com, for what organisers describe as an “unplugged and honest” discussion on courageous leadership.
Amesu, who spent 16 years practising as a criminal barrister across the North West, is now co-founder of She Leads for Legacy, an organisation supporting the development of Black women and their allies. The community has grown to more than 2,500 members.
She has built a national profile as a speaker on women in leadership and courageous leadership and is a Founding Fellow of the Society of Leadership Fellows at St George’s House, Windsor Castle. Amesu also serves as an Honorary Industry Fellow at the University of Salford Business School.
In addition, she made history as the first Black Branch Chair of the Greater Manchester Branch of the Institute of Directors and currently co-chairs the Diversity Drivers Group as part of the North West Business Leadership Team. She is also a trustee of The Hallé Orchestra and chairs its Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, while serving on the board of the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter.
A TEDx speaker and LinkedIn Learning instructor, her course on courageous leadership has been completed by more than 70,000 learners worldwide.
Organisers say the event aims to create an intimate setting for open conversation, bringing together members of the regional business community from 5pm to 7pm.
