Introduce yourself
I’m Sarah Matts, Group and Events Sales Manager at Hyatt Hotels Manchester. I lead the Group and Events team across our Manchester properties, working closely with clients to plan and deliver events that feel well organised, calm and confident from start to finish. I’m very hands-on in my approach and enjoy guiding clients through every stage of the process, making sure nothing feels overwhelming and that every detail is thought through with care.
Career highlight
My career highlight was making the leap to better my career and join the busy hotels of the city centre working at Hyatt Hotels Manchester. I have been here nearly two years and can honestly say my whole time here has been lots of highlights rolled into one main one.
Name three words that describe your personality
Calm, organised, people-focused.
What’s the best thing about pro-manchester?
The sense of connection. pro-manchester brings together people from across different sectors in a way that feels open and supportive, making it easy to build genuine relationships rather than just exchange business cards.
What are your priorities for 2026?
My main priority is to continue strengthening Hyatt Hotels Manchester as a trusted destination for group and events business, with a focus on consistency, quality and long-term client relationships. I want to keep developing the team, building confidence, expertise and clear processes so that every event is delivered smoothly and with the same high standards, regardless of size or complexity.
Alongside that, I’m focused on deepening relationships across Manchester’s business community, working more collaboratively with partners and clients to support the city’s growing meetings and events landscape, while ensuring we never lose sight of the guest experience at the heart of everything we do.
What do you think are the most important things going on in Manchester at the moment?
Manchester continues to grow as a destination for business, events and culture. What feels most important is how the city balances that growth with experience, service and community, making sure Manchester remains welcoming, well-connected and distinctive.
Favourite meeting place in Manchester – I am quiet easy going and enjoy meeting at new places and trying new restaurants and bars in the city, there’s too much choice to just have one. I do love the Northern Quarter though for the mix of nice places for Brunch or coffee and then bars in the evening.
Are their any particular types of businesses that you would like to meet
I’m keen to connect with businesses that regularly host meetings, conferences or events in Manchester, particularly those looking for long-term venue partnerships. I’d also love to meet organisations that value collaboration, clear communication and well-planned experiences for their teams and clients.
