Practical Tools for the Feedback Conversation
Practical coaching tools to make feedback clearer, easier, and part of everyday performance conversations.
Feedback is essential for performance, but it’s often avoided or handled poorly. Not because people don’t care, but because it can feel uncomfortable, personal, and risky.
This session focuses on what’s really getting in the way. We explore how social pressure, fear of judgement, and mindset shape how we give and receive feedback, and why this impacts trust, performance and connection across teams.
Participants will reflect on their own feedback mindset using the Rising Vibrational Scale and consider how their thoughts, emotions and behaviours show up in real conversations.
We then introduce a simple, practical feedback process, helping leaders move from avoiding feedback to using it consistently to build clarity, accountability and performance.
This is a highly interactive session focused on real situations, not theory.
Participants will learn using active tools and proven frameworks:
Rising Vibrational Scale
A self-awareness tool helping participants recognise their emotional state and how it shapes their response to feedback, enabling more intentional and effective conversations.
Rising Vibe Feedback Process
A simple, practical structure for giving and receiving feedback, focused on clear intent, evidence-based observations, impact and agreed next steps.
Psychological Safety Framework
Exploring inclusion, learner, contributor and challenger safety to understand the conditions that support open, honest feedback.
Social Pain and Threat Model
Building awareness of why feedback can feel challenging, linking behaviours to responses such as fear of judgement, rejection or exclusion.
Real-play and Reflection
Participants apply the tools to real situations through structured reflection and peer discussion, building confidence through practice.
All methods are simple, practical and directly transferable into day-to-day leadership conversations.
