Introduce yourself
I have been employed in the financial services industry for 45 years including 29 years at HSBC in their Commercial, Corporate and Invoice Finance divisions. I have also worked for independent financial institutions, a specialist trade finance bank and run my own company. Since 2014, I have worked for GC Business Finance, currently as a Fund Manager delivering the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II to SMEs based in the North West of England.
Career highlight
Whilst at GC Business Finance, I provided loan funding to a small software business that were unable to get the finance they needed from their own bank. Some years later, they were acquired by a global technology business.

Its ability to create relationships across Manchester’s business community.
What are your priorities for 2026?
To provide growing businesses with the funding that they need, particularly when they have been unable to obtain these funds from the commercial finance sector.

The ground floor café in The Midland Hotel.
Are their any particular types of businesses that you would like to meet?
Any business that needs to fund their growth but haven’t been supported by their own bank.
