Lancashire-based SUMMIT co-founder Andy Henderson appointed Non-Executive Director at DPS

Andy Henderson, co-founder of Lancashire-based business strategy and growth consultancy SUMMIT, has been appointed as Non-Executive Director at DPS, the print equipment and workflow specialist known for its values-led approach to supporting print businesses across the UK. He will carry out the appointment alongside his role at SUMMIT.
The appointment comes as DPS enters a significant new phase of growth and expansion, with the business continuing to strengthen its position across commercial print, digital print, direct mail, finishing equipment and workflow solutions.
The partnership brings together two businesses built around shared values of transparency, strategic thinking and long-term sustainable growth.
Andy co-founded SUMMIT following the merger of Forward Thinking and Latitude Studios, creating a consultancy that combines business strategy, leadership development, marketing and creative services. Since launching, the Lancashire-based business has expanded across Lancashire, Yorkshire and Greater Manchester, supporting hundreds of organisations through growth planning, mentoring and strategic consultancy.
Now, Andy is bringing that experience into DPS, where he will work alongside Managing Director Will Doherty to help shape the company’s long-term strategic direction.
DPS was founded by Will after more than 30 years in the print industry, with a mission to challenge the poor sales practices and lack of transparency he believed had become too common across the sector.
Speaking about the appointment, Will said:
“I built this business because I wanted to do things differently. Within the industry, there is often too great a focus on simply selling machines rather than properly supporting customers.”
The company has developed a reputation for providing honest, expert support to customers, helping businesses upgrade, optimise, expand and troubleshoot with confidence.
Will first met Andy through YAB (Your Affordable Board) before undertaking SUMMIT’s Success GPS programme, a process he credits with driving major growth and positive change within DPS.
“Andy has played an important role in our journey already, both as a mentor and as someone who genuinely understands what we’re trying to achieve with DPS,” said Will.
“Everything we do is built around honesty, trust and long-term relationships, and Andy shares those same values.”
Andy brings more than 25 years’ experience across technology, consultancy and business growth. Over the course of his career, he has scaled businesses to multi-million-pound turnover, acquired and sold companies himself and supported more than 700 businesses through strategic consultancy.
As Non-Executive Director, he will support DPS across strategic planning, partnerships, growth opportunities and future expansion initiatives, while helping provide clarity and oversight as the business continues to scale.
Andy said:
“What immediately stood out to me about DPS was the integrity behind the business. Will and the team have built something with a very clear purpose and a strong set of values.”
The appointment comes during a period of strong momentum for DPS, with the company exploring new opportunities across service development, strategic partnerships and future acquisitions.
Andy added:
“There’s huge potential ahead for DPS and a real opportunity to continue challenging how the print industry operates by putting transparency, collaboration and trust at the centre of the customer experience.
“The business is entering a really exciting stage of growth and I’m looking forward to helping the team bring clarity, cohesion and strategic direction to the opportunities ahead.”
