Law firm McHale & Co has appointed Shaun Little as head of corporate and Patrick Byrne as head of employment as it accelerates the expansion of its commercial advisory services.
Shaun has joined the Altrincham-based practice from Sumer Law. He trained and qualified at Eversheds Sutherland before moving to Beyond Corporate and then Sumer Law.
Patrick has moved to McHale & Co from Weightmans, which he joined from Myerson Solicitors. He trained and qualified as a solicitor at Howes Percival.
Adam Horner, joint chief executive at McHale & Co, said: “Shaun and Patrick bring exceptional expertise, commercial awareness and leadership experience.
“Their arrival strengthens our ability to support SME clients on employment matters, corporate transactions and wider strategic growth initiatives, aligning perfectly with our objective of providing a comprehensive commercial offering.
“Our vision has always been to build a modern law firm that combines technical excellence with outstanding client service. Shaun and Patrick reinforce that vision, and their appointments reflect our commitment to investing in the people and capabilities that will drive the next phase of our growth.”
Shaun said: “We aim to become the go-to corporate team for SMEs across the north west and, looking ahead, to build a practice advising growing businesses across the country.
“This is a hugely exciting time to join McHale & Co. The firm is delivering on its growth plans while putting in place the foundations for further expansion. I feel very fortunate to be part of this journey and to have the trust of the leadership team.”
Patrick is focused on developing the firm’s employment law practice, working alongside its wider advisory teams spanning corporate, commercial, real estate and litigation to support business clients.
He said: “We aim to position our employment team as a market-leading offering for SMEs that challenges traditional law firm models. A key part of this vision is a
competitive fixed-fee service model, including HR and compliance audits, structured project support for workplace issues and ongoing retainer arrangements.
“I’m very excited to join McHale & Co at this stage of its journey. It’s an entrepreneurial and creative firm where there is a real opportunity to do things differently for clients in the employment law and HR space.
“The firm’s ambition, energy and willingness to invest in new ideas have been clear from day one, and I’m excited to be building a team that delivers excellent legal advice and provides a genuinely different client experience.”
Kamil Tomaszewski, joint CEO alongside Adam, said: “The appointment of Shaun and Patrick represents a significant step in the continued evolution of McHale & Co.
“For many years, we have supported business owners, entrepreneurs and individuals through key stages of their personal and commercial journeys.
“As our client base has grown, so too has the demand for specialist corporate and employment law expertise.
“The fact that we are attracting lawyers of Shaun and Patrick’s calibre from larger firms is a testament to the reputation we have built, the quality of our client relationships and the direction of the firm. We are delighted to welcome them and look forward to the impact they will make.”
