Manchester-headquartered accountancy and tax advisory firm Alexander & Co has marked its 50th anniversary with an evening event bringing together senior figures from across the city’s financial, legal and professional services community.
Held at The Ivy Spinningfields, the professional partners event celebrated five decades of Alexander & Co remaining independently owned and partner-led, while reflecting on the firm’s long-standing connection to Manchester’s business community.
Founded in Manchester in 1976, Alexander & Co has been part of the city’s business community for five decades, supporting generations of businesses and entrepreneurs as Manchester has grown into one of the UK’s leading centres for business and professional services. From its Deansgate head office, the firm provides accountancy, taxation and business advisory services to owner-managed and family businesses, entrepreneurs and growing organisations nationwide.
While the accountancy profession has changed significantly over the past five decades, Alexander & Co has retained its independent structure and partner-led approach, with senior advisers continuing to work closely with the businesses and individuals they support.
Welcoming guests at the anniversary event, Gary Kramrisch, Partner at Alexander & Co, reflected on the milestone and the firm’s relationship with Manchester.
“Fifty years is a significant milestone for any business, particularly one that has remained proudly independent throughout such a period of change. We have seen Manchester transform around us, and whilst Alexander & Co has evolved with it, our commitment to our clients, our people and the relationships we have built has remained constant.
“Independence is an important part of who we are. It allows us to take a long-term view; remain close to the businesses and individuals we advise and make decisions with our clients’ interests at the centre of what we do.
“This evening is an opportunity to reflect on the people and relationships that have helped shape Alexander & Co over the years. We are proud of our heritage and our Manchester roots, and we are looking forward to the next chapter.”
Alexander & Co’s history has spanned significant changes in both Manchester and the accountancy profession. From its beginnings 50 years ago, the firm has developed alongside the city’s increasingly diverse business community while maintaining its independent ownership.
The anniversary event provided an opportunity to recognise the professional relationships built by the firm and to look ahead to its next chapter. Alexander & Co remains focused on providing independent, partner-led advice and building long-term relationships with businesses across the North West and beyond.
