Hawkins\Brown celebrates new qualifications

Internationally renowned, award-winning architectural practice, Hawkins\Brown are proud to announce that two members of its Manchester studio have qualified as architects this month.

Hawkins\Brown Studio North’s Kelly-Marie Rodgers and Sam Beddingfield recently completed their architectural studies with RIBA North West. After years of hard work and dedication, Kelly and Sam finally received their notifications of qualification in April and attended their graduation earlier this month.

Kelly, originally from Trafford, joined Hawkins\Brown in 2015 after studying architecture at the University of Sheffield. Kelly used her work on two of the practice’s large-scale residential projects – Plot N06 East Village and Tiger Way – as her case studies for her Part 3 qualification. Sam, originally from Tameside, joined

Hawkins\Brown in 2016 after studying architecture at the Manchester School of Architecture. Sam used his work on the practice’s landmark Creative Arts Building for Leeds Beckett University as his case study for his Part 3 qualification.

As well as their studies and day-to-day work, Kelly and Sam are also keen advocates of the practice’s strong social agenda. Kelly leads Studio North’s RIBA Architecture Ambassadors programme aimed to inspire the next generation through partnering with local schools and coordinates fundraising activities for local and national charities like Maggie’s, Centrepoint and The Pankhurst Trust. Sam is a key ambassador for the studio’s university outreach activities.

With their new found spare time, Kelly intends to learn the cello and Sam will be playing his guitar very loud, spending lots of time with his dog and taking a trip to New York.
