Member Spotlight: David Rothburn, Head of Manchester Office, Quilter Cheviot Copy

Each week we get to know one of our members slightly better.  This week we find out more about David Rothburn, Head of Manchester Office, Quilter Cheviot

1. Favourite quote or saying?

Life is a series of unexpected twists and turns – enjoy the good ones and let the bad ones make you stronger and wiser.

2. Career highlight?

Qualifying in 1991 knowing I had no more formal exams to sit ever!

3. Why do you love pro-manchester?

It allows engagement with other Professionals in our great city from smaller events to large dinners and conferences. Their online service is invaluable, especially in this current climate.

4. What are you reading at the moment?

Lots of articles online and podcasts. I am also currently reading “I am Pilgrim” by Terry Hayes.

5. What are you watching at the moment?

Great British menu – preparing to dine out again… whenever it is safe to do so.

6. Favourite meeting place in Manchester?

Any roof top terrace when the sun is shining – The Ivy, 20 Stories etc. On a cooler day, the King Street Townhouse Hotel is a good meeting place, and only a stone’s throw from the Quilter Cheviot office.

7. Favourite lockdown activity?

Eating and drinking, I think this maybe a favourite pastime of many at the moment. I am looking forward to revisiting Manna, Manchester first Michelin starred restaurant!

8. Most creative meal that you cook?

I am sure my family would agree, my best role is the BBQ which has seen plenty of action! My homemade burgers are divine…even if I do say so myself!

9. Most creative thing you’ve seen on a video call during the lockdown?

All rather mundane I am afraid.

10. Most mundane task you’ve completed since being in lockdown?

That’s an easy one, changing bed linen!

11. Do you write a blog that you’d like us to share?

No but my colleague David Miller has an award winning one!

12. What are you looking forward to doing again the most after lockdown?

This one is very easy – seeing my eldest daughter who is working frontline at Royal London Hospital and giving her a huge hug!
