BANC Named One of the UK’s Best Places to Work by Campaign

17th June 2025, 9:23 am

Manchester-based digital agency BANC are delighted to report that Campaign’s Best Places to Work 2025 programme officially named them as the 7th best place to work in the UK.

The award recognises companies and agencies across the marketing and creative industries who foster a positive work culture and take care of their employees’ health and wellbeing that, ultimately, make their employees proud to work for them. BANC’s 7th place position sees them share space with industry names such as AMA and Bind Media as well as fashion giants PrettyGreen.

Judged by Campaign, a leading business media brand serving marketing, advertising and media industries, their criteria involved assessing BANC’s employee benefits, with particular attention to how their benefit package made people feel valued and cared for.

Companies who entered the award were required to complete an Employer Assessment and share a questionnaire with their employees – with the anonymous answers then used by the judges to assess the results.

This assessment involved asking entrants about their employee practices and programmes, including – but not limited to – social activities, professional development and training, employee recognition and awards, and Employee Assistance Programmes.

In gaining the 7th place position, the Campaign judges recognised BANC’s commitment to employee learning and training through a range of professional development programmes, including educational qualifications, management training courtesy of This is Mastery, and industry event attendance. BANC’s continued collaboration with University Academy 92, a higher education institution, to offer apprenticeships was also recognised as a positive professional factor.

Elsewhere, Campaign’s judges also pointed to BANC’s social calendar, a large part of the company’s culture which offers a range of downtime activities for employees to attend, including quarterly parties across Manchester, after-work events such as pottery and painting classes and monthly team lunches. Part of this also involves dedicated charity events and work to raise money for local charities such as The Booth Centre, Manchester Dogs Home and Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

BANC’s health and wellbeing offerings were also acknowledged, including monthly massages, private healthcare and dental courtesy of Vitality, and paid-for counselling sessions from Talk Listen Change where employees are free to refer themselves for mental health treatment including counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy.

Lastly, the agency’s day-to-day work-life balance benefits, in place to let employees optimise their professional and personal lives were also praised. These included flexible work hours, a block on mandatory overtime, stress management workshops and limiting the checking of email and voicemail outside of work hours.

Of the news, Martin Cozen, Managing Director of BANC said: “I couldn’t be more delighted to hear about BANC’s place on Campaign’s list. As a director, you’re always hoping to be as successful as possible when it comes to business. But if it comes at the expense of your employees’ happiness, then the victory is a hollow one.

“Ranking in the top 10 is a real recognition of how much we care. By striving for better, we’ve created a workplace with a benefits package that adds value to the lives of BANC’s employees, both on a personal and professional level. We’re always happy to reward their hard work, and Campaign’s plaudit is a more than worthy reward for what we give back”.
