Trafford & Stockport College Group: Your Partner in Apprenticeships

6th August 2025, 11:41 am

At Trafford & Stockport College Group, we believe in the power of partnerships by delivering strategic support to help your business thrive. We work closely with local businesses to create strong, two-way relationships for mutual success through high-quality apprenticeships that meet real business needs – today and for the future.

As a leading vocational college rooted in the Greater Manchester business community, we work together with employers to design and deliver apprenticeship programmes that are not only flexible and responsive but built with the future in mind.

To strengthen our offer and meet the increasing demand for employer-led training, we’ve expanded our Employer Partnerships Team with two new dedicated Apprenticeship Specialists: Leah and Guy.

Leah brings a wealth of experience across recruitment, supported employment, alternative education and business development. Her focus is on business and professional services — and she’s passionate about making apprenticeships more inclusive and impactful, helping employers attract, recruit, and retain diverse talent.

Guy draws on over 20 years of commercial experience, including a long-standing career at the BBC and collaborations with major organisations like Manchester Airport and Liverpool ONE. Now focusing on the construction sector, he works with employers to plug skills gaps through tailored training solutions that align with business strategy.

Together, Leah and Guy provide one-to-one support for businesses looking to maximise their Apprenticeship Levy, access funding and incentives, or plan for the future of their workforce.

As part of our wider commitment to digital skills, we’ve collaborated with Code Nation to launch a new range of digital apprenticeships. Covering high-demand roles such as Software Developer, Cyber Security Specialist, IT Support and Data Analyst, these programmes are designed with employers at the core and delivered through immersive, project-based learning.

Whether you’re aiming to upskill your current workforce or bring in new digital talent, our collaboration with Code Nation provides a practical solution to meet your business needs. With the support of Leah and Guy, employers can access clear advice on funding, recruitment and programme delivery – making it easier to integrate apprenticeships into your long-term talent strategy.

Your needs shape our solutions. We understand that every organisation has its own challenges, ambitions and pace of change – which is why we take a tailored approach to apprenticeship delivery. Our programmes are designed in close collaboration with employers, aligning directly with your workforce goals and offering the flexibility to meet your operational needs.

We regularly bring employers into our classrooms to share insight, set expectations and inspire the next generation of talent. This practical exposure helps our students understand what it truly means to succeed in the workplace – creating more confident, capable apprentices who are ready to contribute.

Our teaching is led by subject specialists with a wealth of industry experience. Our delivery models are  flexible and bespoke hybrid – depending on what works best for you. And our focus is always on building strategic, long-term partnerships that support both business growth and learner success. We go further by delivering tailored, high-quality training with a partnership-first approach, putting your business at the centre.

And if apprenticeships aren’t the right fit right now, there are still plenty of ways to get involved. We offer a wide range of employer engagement opportunities, from career talks and CV workshops to industry-led masterclasses, all of which play a vital role in preparing our students for the world of work.
