Member Spotlight: Janine Hutson, Solicitor, Kuits

Introduce yourself:

I’m Janine Hutson, a Solicitor in the Family Team at Kuits. I qualified in 2009 and I have specialised in Family Law throughout my career. I joined Kuits in September 2024. I advise clients who are going through a separation or divorce, assisting them with financial settlement negotiations and agreeing arrangements for their children. In cases where it is not possible to reach agreement, I advise clients during the Court process. I also advise on pre and post nuptial agreements.

Career highlight:

Although I am always extremely keen to help my clients reach agreement, and avoid going to Court, this is not always possible. Some of the most memorable days of my career have come at the end of lengthy Court proceedings. It is always extremely satisfying to know that you have been able to help your client achieve an outcome that they are very happy with.

What’s the best thing about pro-manchester?

Since joining Kuits, I am working in Manchester for the first time, and attending pro-manchester events has given me the opportunity to meet people in a friendly and welcoming environment.

What are your priorities for 2025?

To grow my network in Manchester, and continue to enjoy my first year at Kuits.

Are there any particular types of businesses that you would like to meet?

Our clients are often referred to us by other professionals, such as financial advisors, accountants and solicitors who do not offer family law services within their firm. We are also keen to work closely with local family mediation services.
