Slater Heelis Solicitors has appointed Vicki McLynn, Partner in the family law team, as the firm’s new Training Partner. Vicki starts this tenure and newly created position by welcoming four new trainee solicitors added to the Trainee cohort for 2025, further reinforcing the firm’s commitment to the next generation of legal talent and nurturing aspiring lawyers through every stage of their career journey.

Joining the firm are Harriet Morgan, Eleanor Talbot, Eleanor Clarke and Zainab Sardar; each bringing with them impressive academic credentials and valuable experience across a variety of legal disciplines.

Having spent three years as a paralegal in healthcare and public law, Harriet Morgan is looking to broaden her expertise and explore Commercial Litigation whilst Eleanor Clarke joins the Employment law team, where she will be building her knowledge and practical experience in a key area of the firm’s services.

Eleanor Talbot joins with hands-on experience in Private Client, Corporate and Employment law, having begun her training in 2024 with seats in Residential Conveyancing and Litigation. She will continue her development within the Family team at Slater Heelis.

Finally, Zainab Sardar joins the Corporate Commercial team having already worked as a paralegal before progressing to Legal Solutions Manager and Relationship Manager within a Global Transactions team. Globally certified as a Legal Project Professional by the IILPM, she brings valuable skills in managing complex corporate matters.

Commenting on the appointments, Vicki McLynn, newly appointed Training Partner, said: “At Slater Heelis, we are passionate about investing in people and supporting solicitors coming through the ranks at all stages.

“We take huge pride in the success of our Trainee Solicitor programme and I am delighted to take to the helm in ensuring its ongoing success. These individuals have demonstrated exceptional commitment to becoming brilliant lawyers so far and we are delighted to welcome them as trainees. Our goal now is to provide them with the right opportunities, mentoring and support to enable them to continue to thrive and develop into outstanding lawyers in whichever field they opt to specialise in.”

The four new trainees will now undertake a unique ritual at Slater Heelis which is the signing of the Slotherem roll; a cherished tradition that symbolises the firm’s historic 250-year legacy. The scroll, signed by trainees for over two centuries, now stretches across the Manchester office and is a living testament to the firm’s enduring role in legal education.

Rachel Fletcher, Managing Partner at Slater Heelis added: “Our history and heritage has shown we consistently produce successful lawyers who have gone on to build coveted careers within the legal profession, many of whom I am proud to say have progressed into leading roles and remain as successful senior lawyers right here with us at Slater Heelis. The four new additions reflect further growth and a long-standing ethos of combining client-focused legal excellence with a deep commitment to professional development and I very much look forward to seeing their journey unfold with us.”
