Friday, 31st March 2023

The Bee Net Zero partnership has launched a comprehensive guide to green finance options available to Greater Manchester businesses to help them to reach net zero targets.

Access to finance is one of the greatest barriers businesses face when installing green technologies.

Energy efficiency measures, on-site renewables and other green technologies can save businesses thousands in the long term however, the initial outlay can be costly. In the current economic climate, businesses may struggle to afford this initial cost.

Green finance options are available to businesses of all industries and sizes to help them make their energy efficiency projects a reality, reducing carbon emissions and annual energy bills in the process.

Currently, there are a variety of green finance options on the market to help all businesses from high-emitting manufacturers to SMEs and even social enterprises.

Renowned lenders like NatWest, Lloyds and HSBC have options available for Greater Manchester businesses. Companies like Siemens and The GC Business Growth Hub also have finance options available to help businesses adopt low-carbon technologies.

Green finance can be used for specific projects including the installation of EVs, carbon reduction and energy efficiency projects and all options have their own requirements. For example, sometimes, businesses will have to demonstrate successful carbon reduction. This makes navigating the green tech landscape quite difficult for businesses also trying to manage their day-to-day.

Bee Net Zero is helping Greater Manchester businesses to access green finance by placing all options in one place.

The primary objective of Bee Net Zero is to make Greater Manchester the easiest place to become a Net Zero business, which includes simplifying access to finance and funding.
