Aaron is a Director for Axon Moore and head’s up Axon Moore’s Manchester office and specialises in the recruitment of FDs for ambitious and fast-growth businesses.

Managing a team of 8 consultants covering the full spectrum of finance roles from graduate to the boardroom, he and the team transform finance functions by uncovering and then bringing to market some of the region’s best talent.

With over a decade’s worth of experience in Accountancy and Financial recruitment, Aaron is the go-to for senior finance professionals and is the creator and face of Axon Moore’s Future Leaders programme. Bet is the Listening & Communications at MAPD, a group of law firms across the UK including the corporate specialists, Bermans. Alongside internal communications, part of Bet’s role is supporting lawyers on their career pathways and routes to qualification, including Training Contracts, SQE and CILEX. Prior to working with MAPD, Bet worked on a TIB/World Bank project to create safe, accessible, and sustainable water systems in rural East Africa.

Azra Makkan Managing Director - Franco's Bakery Ltd

Azra is a finance-focused business leader known for her calm, clear-headed approach to complex challenges.

After starting her career in operations consulting, she qualified as an ACA at Deloitte in Transaction Services before moving into investment banking to specialise in sell-side M&A.

She later became Group Financial Controller at Superbike Factory, guiding the business through a major growth period.

As Managing Director of Franco’s Bakery, supplying a spectrum of retailers from Waitrose through to Iceland, as well as food service and other industries, Azra leads commercial strategy and operational performance.

Her leadership blends analytical discipline with steady, people-centred decision-making.

Joe Stroud Partner - AZETS

Joe joined Azets in 2025 as a corporate finance partner, heading up the North West. Joe has almost 20 years of significant experience in corporate finance, having held senior roles in both investment banking and private equity.

Working on both sides of transactions as an adviser and investor, Joe provides judgement and advice through multiple perspectives. His specialisms include; advising entrepreneurs on succession planning and exit options, private equity transactions and helping clients grow their business through acquisitions and operational improvement.

Joe has particular experience in business services, professional services, industrials and technology sectors.

 

Charlie Morris Director - Alvarez & Marsal

Charlie Morris is a Director at A&M in the North West team. She has experience advising a variety of private, public and private equity clients on both sell side and buy side transactions, as well as VCT investment processes. ​Prior to A&M she was Head of Commercial Finance at Village Hotels Group, with responsibility for the Group’s reporting and forecasting, audit and tax. She began her career at KPMG in tax, before moving to Corporate Finance.
