About the Speakers:

Joel is a Senior Manager at VG, leading the Employee Incentives team within the Corporate department. Joel joined the company in 2018 and is responsible for managing a diverse and extensive portfolio of client structures, including equity and cash-based employee benefit trusts, deferred remuneration schemes, nominee arrangements, and share plan administration services.
The team serves a wide range of clients, from small privately owned businesses and private equity portfolio companies to AIM and main market-listed firms. Drawing on his in-depth sector knowledge, extensive experience, and broad industry network, Joel and his team consistently deliver high-quality, efficient, and fast-paced services to meet client needs. Joel frequently represents VG at industry events across the UK, Channel Islands and Europe.

Andy is a partner at CMS, a global law firm. He heads up the Employee Incentives team, specialising in the design and implementation of employee equity plans. Andy acts for a broad range of clients, including growth companies, private equity houses and large listed companies, advising on both legal and tax issues relating to the operation of equity plans. He is a regular speaker at industry events.
At the beginning of 2021, Andy led the successful launch of the ShareReporter joint venture between CMS and a highly-experienced tech team led by Mike Pewton. ShareReporter is transforming the global share plan market through the creation of technology-led solutions, underpinned by a worldwide database of legal and tax information which is managed by CMS. Andy sits as a non-executive on the board of ShareReporter, helping to shape the company’s future strategy.

Andy leads PwC’s private business employee incentives proposition.
He advises private businesses on all aspects in relation to the the design, structure and implementation of their management incentive schemes and employee share schemes. This includes from a tax, legal and valuation perspective.
Andy also advises on the impacts of corporate transactions on those arrangements including share sales, business sales and IPOs.
Andy’s experience includes, amongst other things, advising on EMI schemes, CSOPs, growth shares, LTIPs, deferred bonus schemes, nominee schemes and employee benefit trusts.
Andy also advises many employee owned businesses including on their transition to employee ownership via an Employee Ownership Trust

Laura is an Associate Director in RSM’s Share Plans & Reward team, specialising in employee share plans, management equity and the tax valuation of shares. Laura and the team specialise in advising businesses in designing and implementing a broad range of incentive structures, from EMI schemes in owner-managed businesses to complex international share plans for global businesses. Laura also has particular experience in leading Employee Ownership Trust transactions, having advised on a number of the largest EOT transactions to have taken place to date in the UK.
