An award winning commercial and technology lawyer specialising in the health and care sector, Charlotte advises  health and care organisations on legal, commercial and strategic issues relating to commissioning, contracting and collaborating. Having worked on a range of health and social care projects from system and place based integration and provider collaboration to electronic patient record procurements and digital health platform development, Charlotte works in partnership with clients to help them to navigate complex issues in order to deliver the desired outcome.

Charlotte is an advocate for innovation and transformation in the sector and in addition to her legal role at Mills & Reeve she proudly chairs pro-Manchester’s healthcare committee, co-leads One HealthTech’s Manchester hub and is an elected member of techUK’s Health and Social Care Council.

Henry is Associate Director for Government and Health at techUK. responsible for our Central Government Programme, Public Services Board, and Health & Social Care Programme.

He is responsible for managing strategic relationships across Whitehall and the NHS, working with individual departments and cross-cutting Government functions to promote better engagement between the public sector and the tech industry.

Henry originally joined techUK in February 2016 as the Programme Manager for Justice and Emergency Services. Prior to joining techUK he worked as the Policy and Communications Officer in the Centre for Science and Policy at the University of Cambridge. In this role he ran programmes to enhance knowledge exchange between academia and government, with a particular focus on issues of national security, law enforcement and defence. Henry was also responsible for advising on CSaP’s communications strategy.

He holds an MA(Hons) in Classics from the University of St Andrews. After graduating he worked in a west London law firm, followed by a spell in the House of Commons, before taking up his position at CSaP.

Sally Rennison is the VP of Business Development for Patients Know Best. Sally joined PKB in 2016 after working for an EPR provider for several years. Previously, Sally managed the transition of customers through the end of the National Programme for IT on to local contracts. As someone who passionately believed in and recognised the value and the importance of acknowledging the patient as part of the provision of healthcare and the role of digital technology, Sally came to PKB to pursue this vision of empowering patients to know best.

Dr David Rawaf is the Clinical Excellence Lead at Inovus Medical. He is responsible for leading the company’s clinical excellence strategy which includes world leading research into the impact of its products on surgical training and surgical care. He advises the company’s development teams on clinical and anatomical accuracy.

David is an MBBS (MD – Merit), BSc (Hons), MSc graduate and anatomy demonstrator from St. George’s Hospital Medical School, University of London. Currently whilst working as a Trauma & Orthopaedics Core Surgical Trainee in the London Deanery and previously as an Orthopaedic and A&E Clinical & Education Fellow at University College London Hospital with clerkships at Johns Hopkins Hospital – Baltimore & Chino Valley & Montclair Medical Centres – Los Angeles, he works on creating and maintaining the design aspects for the Imperial College WHO Collaborating Centre (for Public Health Education & Training), Imperial College School of Public Health and the Global Health BSc programme as well as medical writing, research and hosting conferences. He also holds an honorary contract with North Hampshire Hospitals as a Clinical Knee Research Fellow.

David has a passion for clinical excellence, patient care and improving training, with his core values driven through long-term experience in driving innovation, improvements through change management through employment of efficiency & safety.

Melissa Morris is the CEO and Founder of Lantum. Lantum is a transformative workforce scheduling, engagement and payments platform loved used by over 3,000 Primary, Acute and Community providers in England. Lantum is the leading workforce management platform in Primary Care with one in two Primary Care organisations having used it over the past 18 months. Melissa is a fellow on the NHS Innovation Accelerator. She previously worked in the Strategy Directorate at NHS London, and prior to that, was a management consultant at Mckinsey & Co, where she focused on transformation projects within healthcare . Melissa is passionate about large scale transformation through technology and workforce engagement.

Dr Katherine Boylan is Head of Innovation for Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT), a position she has held since April 2020. This role involves overseeing innovation activities within MFT, part of the wider Research & Innovation function. The Innovation Team supports: Intellectual Property and Commercialisation management; adoption of novel technologies within the Trust; strategic partnerships (with commercial organisations and other leading clinical/ academic centres); a portfolio of strategic programmes (including the Diagnostic and Technology Accelerator and Clinical Data Science Unit): and the interaction with the co-located companies across the Citylabs Innovation District. Katherine is a member of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) Medical Technologies Advisory Committee, a group responsible for making recommendations to NICE on medical devices with the potential to make improvements in patient outcomes; patient experience of treatment and recovery; and efficient use of resources.

Prior to her current position, Katherine worked in The University of Manchester for a number of years, most recently as Operations Director for the MRC-funded Molecular Pathology Node, and the Trust-funded Diagnostics and Technology Accelerator. Katherine’s academic background is cancer genetics (PhD, University of Dundee) and molecular biology (BSc, University of Sheffield).

Richard joined Allscripts in 2016 and is responsible for Allscripts business in Europe, Middle East and Africa. With more than 35 years of experience working in healthcare and healthcare IT, Richard has a strong track record of successfully managing Healthcare and Life Sciences businesses.

Richard has lived and worked in multiple countries around the world, specializing in the implementation of comprehensive clinical solutions—regionally and nationally—as well as the delivery of consulting and strategy projects.

Richard holds an MSc in Intelligent Systems and is a Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences.

Guy Lucchi joined Health Innovation Manchester’s executive team in June 2019 as Digital Innovation Director.  He is responsible for leading the organisation’s digital transformation programme, across Greater Manchester’s £6bn devolved health and care system. Guy is a highly experienced digital leader with a proven track record in shaping and delivering large and complex digital health strategies and transformation programmes.

He has spent much of his career as a Chief Technology Officer with global IT giant DXC Technology (merger of CSC and HP enterprise services), leading on digital healthcare and life sciences initiatives across the Group.  Notably, Guy was the CTO for DXC’s product portfolio that has led to significant digitisation of administration and electronic patient record systems across much of the NHS.  He was also instrumental in developing DXC’s global healthcare cloud strategy.

Guy passionately believes that building high quality and sustainable wellness, health and care services can only happen if we leverage the benefits of existing and emerging technology. This is not just about digitising existing services, the change required is much more fundamental.

He was born and bred in Manchester and studied at the University of Salford.  He was named as ‘Technology Consultant of the Year’ in 2013 by the Management Consultancies Association (MCA).

Dr Kath Mackay is Director of Life Sciences for Bruntwood SciTech – the UK’s leading property provider dedicated to driving the growth of the UK science and technology sector.  She has a keen interest in growing the life science industry, and businesses and infrastructure within the sector, ensuring the UK is the best place to establish and scale a life science organisation.  

As Director of Life Sciences, Kath is responsible for developing the life science vision and strategy for Bruntwood SciTech, external affairs, and developing sector specific innovation services and investment support to the life sciences business across our network of campuses.  Kath also oversees major life science assets such as Alderley Park – the UK’s largest single site life science campus – the new Birmingham Health Innovation Campus and Citylabs in Manchester.

Kath is a scientist by training, with a background in business development.  Kath joined Bruntwood SciTech from the executive board of Innovate UK where she led the team responsible for growing and scaling businesses working in the biomedical, health, agriculture and food sectors, creating and delivering a £700m portfolio of infrastructure, Catapults, grant and loan investments. Kath is also Non-Executive Director of the Northern Health Science Alliance, the North of England’s health partnership, UKRI’s National Biofilms Innovation Centre, and Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership.

Translational medic by background, Anastassia has extensive experience in translating personalized medicine from bench to bed. She was heavily involved in research, technical transfer and manufacturing autologous and allogeneic products for cancer patients.

Anastassia is Business Development Lead for Life Sciences at Bruntwood SciTech, and is responsible for supporting customer growth and expanding the ecosystem. She is also the Global Head of Business Development for a not-for- profit organisation, Innovation Forum that builds bridges between academia, private companies, investors and policy makers.

Martin is the founder of GrafMed, developing self-shape-changing materials for the prevention of diabetic foot ulcers, currently working with the MATMED programme and based at Alderley Park. Over the last 5 years, Martin has raised over £1m of private finance and over £300k from EU and Innovate UK, as well as working with x7 UK Catapult Centres and partners in the UK and EU to develop new products, with 6 unique patents written and, a finalist in the Welsh Business Awards for Innovation in 2021. Martin has worked in the marine renewable sector, producing new integrated energy storage materials as a tiered partner with Manchester Graphene and in the Agri-tech sectors looking to develop pioneering technologies with Exeter and Cambridge Universities, to provide up to 20% improved crop yield through novel meta-materials with quantum technologies. Martin has also worked with leading academics in the North East to develop green-hydrogen nano-materials for the automotive and wearables sectors.

Deepbridge Capital is a northwest-based investment manager with over £200m of investments in the disruptive technology, life sciences and renewable energy sectors.

Andrew is a growth specialist, with two decades of experience helping companies develop their brand reputation, deliver financial results and develop sales & marketing functions, within heavily regulated environments.  Andrew has worked with numerous companies, across multiple industries, but has predominantly focused on professional and financial services, and has been working with financial professionals throughout his career.

Andrew joined Deepbridge in 2014, becoming a Partner in 2015, is a Member of The Chartered Institute of Marketing and holds a BSc in Business Economics and Marketing from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. Andrew is also a patron of the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Peace Foundation.

Dace has a public health background and also works as a guest lecturer at Riga Stradins University, Latvia. She is a board member of the Association of Latvian Diaspora Nurses and Midwifes. As Business Development Manager Dace works in close collaboration with sponsors, CROs, clinicians and academics, as well as other life sciences researchers to support and facilitate opportunities for innovative and ground-breaking research across Greater Manchester and the North West of England. Part of her role also requires her to act as an Industry Facilitator and support the delivery of high-quality research studies across 30 clinical areas (e.g. cardiovascular, oncology, diabetes, surgery, emergency, renal, respiratory, public health, primary care) to ensure the people across Greater Manchester have the opportunity to take part in innovative, ground-breaking and life-changing research to improve health and wealth.

Dace is very passionate about inclusive research and the importance of integrating the ethos of inclusiveness across all aspects of her professional and personal life. She is honoured to have the opportunity to play a role in shaping, improving, and fostering a dialogue on fantastic research opportunities across local underserved participant groups. Her vision is that in the future everyone across Greater Manchester, no matter of age, ethnicity, gender and beliefs, will be enabled and keen to participate in research studies, and will see the value research brings to the local community and beyond.

Bernadette, Evolution’s Public Sector Managing Director, leads national teams delivering interim digital talent to NHS organisations.

With extensive recruitment experience, she is an advocate for women in data and technology, founding the Her Plus Data Meet Up and serving as a mentor for Women in Recruitment. She also co-curates the Manchester Hub for One Health Tech.

Bernadette’s passion lies in supporting women realise their potential within their careers.

An author and public speaker, Victoria Betton specialises in digital strategy, policy and transformation for social impact. She is a qualified social worker and coach with 20+ year’s experience in local government, third sector, digital health startups and the NHS.

Alejandra is a healthcare consultant with 10+ years experience in evidence-based policymaking in healthcare, strategic partnership and planning to enhance transformation in healthcare. With a background in quantitative analysis, her work has focused on the interface between public health, health economics and healthcare digital policy working for public, private and academic sectors.

She has been involved in numerous health and social care projects with clients like NHS England as part of the evaluation team of one of the Test Bed Health tech interventions in Lancashire. She has also evaluated programmes implemented by Macmillan Cancer Support, The Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership, Innovate UK, among others.

Alejandra is passionate about Transformation and Development of organisations and models of care. She is one of the co-leaders of The One Health Tech Manchester Hub, a volunteer organisation advocating for higher inclusion and diversity in health technology.
