Retailers’ resilience has been tested as ever in 2024-2025. At this year’s lunch we will hear insights from retailers and their advisors, discussing the highs, lows, wins and losses of the last year. How have they cut through the competition, adapted to changing purchasing trends and succeeded (or not) against struggling consumer sentiment?

We will also attempt to look ahead, discussing new technologies, emerging trends in the sector and the impact of changing economic and fiscal policies – domestic and foreign. How have they begun to implement smart technologies, what impact do the policies of the US and other foreign markets have on their businesses, and how do they stay in tune with their consumer base against this backdrop?

I am  alumnus of Alliance Manchester Business School and received a prestigious corporate PhD scholarship from AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals. I  teach consumer behaviour  and strategic marketing to apprenticeships, undergraduates and managers of leading household brands, MBAs from a huge cross section of industries, Government and public sector. I contribute to consumer behaviour, consumption practices and retailing research, publish in leading academic journals and present at conferences.
