On 25th April the future Pro-Manchester committee came together to put on a great charity event in aid of Manchester Mind. The evening was kindly hosted by Workplace on Oxford Road.

The event in question was a charity race night consisting of a mixture of pre-recorded horse races, dog races and even a pig race with a great prize up for a grabs on each one. Our comperes for the evening were our Chair and Vice-Chair, Doug King and Hannah Johnson.

Guests were given 1 race token for each race as part of their ticket with the option to buy additional racing tokens in exchange for a charitable donation. The evening got off to a great start with the first few races with people winning an afternoon tea at Cloud 23, kindly donated by KPMG, a bottle of champagne and champagne coupe stack donated by Eversheds Sutherland and tickets to a game at Sale Sharks donated by Deloitte.

After all that excitement everyone had a break to top up drinks and have some hot dogs kindly provided by Workplace. It also gave everyone an opportunity to buy some raffle tickets with some more great prizes up for grabs:

  • £100 voucher for The Ivy donated by Open Money
  • Bottle of Champagne donated by Realm Recruit
  • Gin Hamper donated by Carter Corson Business Psychologists
  • £50 San Carlo voucher donated by Browne Jacobson
  • 2 tickets to RHS Chatsworth House Flower Show donated by Brewin Dolphin
  • £50 ASOS voucher donated by Kuits

The committee really pulled together to get some great prizes in aid of raising as much money as possible.

It was then on to the last 2 races with the lucky winners taking home a £50 voucher for the Alchemist donated by Four Recruitment and a £50 House of Evelyn voucher donated by Hall Brown Family Law.

The whole evening was a huge amount of fun and a great success with an amazing £2,180 being raised for Manchester Mind.
