Member Spotlight: Lauren Davies, Marketing Assistant – Beever and Struthers

Each week we get to know one of our members a little better. This week it’s Lauren Davies, Marketing Assistant – Beever and Struthers…

1. Favourite quote or saying?

“To love what you do and feel like it matters, how could anything be more fun?”

2. Career highlight?

Speaking in-front of 200 members of staff at our first ever Staff Conference Day. It was nerve wracking but I’m really glad I did it and got to inform staff about the Beevers Fundraising Group!

3. Why do you love pro-manchester?

I love how the network brings unlikely people together, people who you wouldn’t normally meet at networking events. It allows you to connect outside your sector and meet some fantastic people and organisations.

4. What are you reading at the moment?

Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo

5. What are you watching at the moment?

It’s a mix between the Crown on Netflix, re-watching the US Office and The Great British Bake Off!

6. Favourite meeting place in Manchester?

Tough one… I’d say anywhere in the Northern Quarter really, I love the atmosphere! But I also love Grand Pacific.

7. Favourite lockdown activity?

Baking more and improving my bread making skills (once I got my hands on some flour!)

8. Most creative meal that you cook?

Not sure if I have a meal that’s most creative, but I recently made Jamie Oliver Shepherds Pie which took me 6 and a half hours, slow roasting the lamb but it was worth the effort.

9. Most creative thing you’ve seen on a video call during the lockdown?

More recently some of the beards and moustaches colleagues are growing for Movember!

10. Most mundane task you’ve completed since being in lockdown?

Definitely all the cleaning…

11. Do you write a blog that you’d like us to share?

Unfortunately, not but if I decide to start one I will let you know!

12. What are you looking forward to doing again the most after lockdown?

Spending time with friends and family.
