Wednesday, 16th December 2020

Each week we get to find out a little more about one of our members. This week it’s Zoe Wallace, Director – Agent Academy…

  1. Favourite quote or saying?

“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.” Maya Angelou

  1. Career highlight?

My entire career at Agent Academy has been a highlight!  Every day we are creating opportunities for more and more young people and the feel-good factor of that is off the scale.

  1. Why do you love pro-manchester?

From the perspective of a business coming into Greater Manchester, pro-manchester has echoed my experience of the Greater Manchester business community as a whole.

It’s the positive, open and collaborative approach that’s so helpful and welcoming.

  1. What are you reading at the moment?

I’ve just finished Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo.  I loved every word.

  1. What are you watching at the moment?

I’m watching Utopia which is from 2014 but eerily so 2020 esq.

  1. Favourite meeting place in Manchester?

Day-to-day, I’d go for meeting up at Union House, that’s where we’re based!

I’m also a big fan of The Foundation Coffee House and you can’t beat a Rice and Three Curries from This and That.

  1. Favourite lockdown activity?

My lockdown-puppy, Marlo, has certainly kept me busy.  She’s usually at my side.

  1. Most creative meal that you cook.

I’m not sure about creative but perfecting the Sunday roast is a big part of my weekly routine.  Using the freshest, local, organic ingredients makes all the difference.

  1. Most creative thing you’ve seen on a video call during the lockdown.

I still haven’t recovered from networking events on Zoom where you get matched to someone and they just appear on your screen.  Scary but really good.  I love using Miro to come up with ideas with the young people we work with.

  1. Most mundane task you’ve completed since being in lockdown?

House training my new puppy Marlo was so draining.  We live in an apartment, so I was literally up and down the stairs so much. Thankfully we had the weather on our side, I wouldn’t have coped otherwise.

  1. Do you write a blog that you’d like us to share?

  1. What are you looking forward to doing again the most after lockdown?

Going on holiday.  I can’t wait to be somewhere warm, have time out, great food and drinks and time to recharge!
