Tuesday, 31st July 2018

Doug King, Director of Deloitte, Manchester has been appointed as chair of future pro-manchester.

Doug moves from the position of vice chair having risen through the ranks of the future pro-Manchester committee. He will be joined by vice-chair Hannah Johnson from Carter Corson Business psychologists, in continuing to promote and develop young talent within Greater Manchester’s business and professional sector.

They will work together on The Made in Manchester Awards, which returns in February 2019 for an eight consecutive year, plus a range of business focused activities designed to help young professionals develop new skills, build relationships and network with like-minded people.

Each year the chair of future pro-manchester chooses a charity of their choice for the committee to help support through numerous activities. This year future pro-manchester will be working closely with Manchester Mind to help raise money and awareness for the important work they do.

Commenting on his appointment Doug said:
“I’m really pleased to take over from Claire as Chair of future pro-manchester. It’s been brilliant working with her over the last 12 months. I’m really excited as I look forward to the next year and continuing to build on the success that future pro-manchester has enjoyed over recent years and working more closely with Hannah. Through my role at Deloitte, working with many of the North West’s most interesting and successful businesses, I am very aware of the important role that the professional services sector plays in supporting our vibrant and thriving business economy. Manchester is a fantastic city to live and work in and future pro-manchester plays a key part in helping to build networks and developing the skills of the young professionals that work here.”

Commenting on her newly elected Vice-chair position Hannah has said
“I am honestly delighted to become the new Vice Chair. I have sat on the Future Pro committee for two years and have seen all the amazing events go from a single idea into reality. I am really looking forward to working with Doug over the next year to do even more to support the young professionals in Manchester.”
