Introduce yourself
I am Siobhan Forster, a Senior Director at Alvarez and Marsal LLP. I provide expert services to clients dealing with frustrated and contentious IT contract disputes. I am usually instructed by legal counsel to advise or provide formal independent expert opinion on what service/delivery issues have occurred or are occurring.
Career highlight
I was the case manager and chief analyst providing the expert evidence on behalf of the Claimants in Bates & Others v Post Office Ltd (Horizon Issues). Attending the High Court trial was a significant experience which I’ll never forget.
Name three words that describe your personality
Principled, organised, and thoughtful.
What’s the best thing about pro-manchester?
The people, without a doubt! From the first event I attended I was struck with how friendly and engaging the team are (and also the other attendees). The events are great and it’s so easy to see what’s going on and to book onto things.
What are your priorities for 2026?
The same as every year (which I also wish for everyone) – to be healthy, happy and successful!
What do you think are the most important things going on in Manchester at the moment?
Given that I work in a tech related field (and politics aside), it would be remiss of me not to focus on the technology investment commitments, and the progress already made in 2025. Everything feels big at the moment – the regeneration efforts, construction, infrastructure etc. It’s exciting.
Favourite meeting place in Manchester
Two issues with this question for me –
- It depends what the meeting is?
- There are just too many to choose from…
At a push I’m going to say Cloud 23 for a one size fits all.
Are there any particular types of businesses that you would like to meet?
I’m usually instructed by law firms and commercial dispute teams, but I can usually assist any business facing a frustrated IT transformation, delivery, or contractual performance issue that is becoming contentious or formally disputed.
