Origin: 70 Spring Gardens springs back to life post-covid

It’s back to work and back in the office this September at Origin, with two new occupiers moving into the 5th floor and more in the pipeline. Post-COVID, Origin is proving to be a popular option for businesses wanting to move in the city centre. The self-contained offices provide a space for companies to truly make their own, whilst the building offers superb amenities including a rooftop garden and basement gym. The Club on the ground floor has hot-desking stations, meeting rooms and informal meeting space available to use, free of charge, which means occupiers don’t need to fit their offices with meeting space and have the option to break-out, if needed.

Architectural visualisation agency, Our Studio, have just signed a new lease at Origin. They viewed the building earlier this year and a global pandemic didn’t stop them from moving into their dream office.

“We looked at a few spaces initially, but none of them ticked the box like Origin did. We love the contrast of the Victorian building with a smart, contemporary interior fit-out and having windows running down both sides of our office providing natural ventilation has become an
important feature too.” Says Sam Crothers, co-founder and managing director.

Crothers continues, “During lockdown there was a moment when we wondered if we needed an office, but now we’re in, we realise the importance of face to face meetings to grow the team, collaborate and knowledge share. We’ve already taken advantage of the roof terrace and the team are looking forward to using the gym once they’re settled back in.”

“Origin is a unique offering for Manchester, and it shows by the level of interest we’ve had since the building launched” says Amelia Barrett, Director ,Sixteen Real Estate “Despite COVID, we’ve been receiving plenty of enquiries and only have a few spaces left to let now.”

With just a handful of offices left, the building is filling up fast and we strongly recommend you get in touch if you’re interested in viewing the space. Visit for more information.

Sixteen Real Estate and Avison Young are joint agents on the Building.
