Brand and communications agency, Agent, has announced record profits, growing 31% and revenues at almost £2 million, despite a challenging year. The agency has also announced that it is set to expand its North West presence, taking up office space in Manchester as Agent and its sister social enterprise, Agent Academy CIC, continue to grow.

Based in Albert Square, Agent’s Manchester presence marks a significant progression for the agency, which has called Liverpool home since its inception in 2006, as it continues to broaden its national client base and grow its North West footprint.

The agency has also significantly increased its headcount, which will become 35 in the coming weeks, bringing specialities such as 3D motion design, UX design and testing and digital marketing expertise in-house to expand the offer for its impressive client roster, including GCHQ, the Road Haulage Association and Sustrans.

Agent’s sister social enterprise, Agent Academy, has also taken significant steps forward, launching a new e-learning platform, Leap, to support people into the creative and digital industry. The platform was created after Agent Academy was awarded £150,000 by the Department for Education and innovation foundation Nesta.

The business has shown resilience and during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and Agent’s CEO, Paul Corcoran who has led the business for the past 15 years, took the decision not to furlough any members of the team or enforce pay cuts, in order to continue to grow.

Paul said:

“I’m exceptionally proud that we have been able to ring in our 15th year in such a positive way, with more talent, innovation and clients who we are truly aligned with.

“Having experienced so many challenges over the past 12 months, this year feels like a real turning point for the agency. If we can overcome that, I truly believe we can achieve anything.

“As we move forward our priority is to make sure we’re able to have a positive impact on our people and our place, and to reflect this in our work. We’re proud of our North West roots and look forward to continuing to expand our presence here, working with our partners such as the North West Business Leadership Team, as true advocates of the Northern Powerhouse.”
