All smiles for Cheadle dentists with launch of new premises

A Cheadle dental practice has doubled its capacity after investing in new premises.

Church Road Dental has provided private dental and orthodontic care for more than three decades, including its award-winning Smile Makeover service that helps patients to achieve their best smile.

Now, the team has purchased a new, larger site and completed an extensive refurbishment to allow them to meet growing patient demand and recruit additional staff.

A seven-figure investment – supported by an £850,000 loan from Lloyds Bank – has allowed Church Road to grow from a three-surgery practice to six, introduce three new dedicated consultation spaces, improved office space and a larger waiting area. It has also funded the purchase of new state-of-the-art equipment, including air transfer units to allow faster turnaround times between patients.

Church Road has already taken on eight new members of staff, including a dentist, hygienist and two dental nurses, and is recruiting for several additional roles. And, since re-opening at its larger practice, it has boosted its patient numbers by 35% – an average of 10 new patients every day.

Shi Karim, clinical director at Church Road Dental, said: “The last few months have been such an exciting time for us – we had long outgrown our previous space, so opening the doors to our new practice was a great moment.

“The team at Lloyds Bank has been incredibly supportive. The impact of the pandemic, coupled with supply chain pressures and increasing material and labour prices all pushed our costs up and delayed our progress. But Lloyds gave us the flexibility we needed to maintain an outstanding service for our existing patients while completing the fitout of our new practice to the standard we had envisioned.

“We are now in an ideal position to not only continue our recruitment drive, but invest even further into enhancing our patient offering to ensure we remain at the cutting edge of providing dental care.”

Kate Salt, healthcare relationship director at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, said: “We have worked with Church Road Dental for more than a decade, and have witnessed the business go from strength to strength. Its top quality service and focus on outstanding patient care has seen it grow continuously over the years, and it is now ready to help even more patients achieve their perfect smile.

“We are committed to backing the growth and resilience of businesses like Church Road, helping to support the creation of new jobs and boost the North West regional economy.”
