A team at law firm Bermans has advised on a deal which has seen a private equity-backed industrial services group make its fifth acquisition within 12 months.
Laura McMorland, Faizan Nayyar and Sophie Robertson were the legal advisers to Mike Shaw and Jason West, co-founders of Direct Pump Systems (DPS), on the company’s sale to Metcor Group.
Metcor Group, which received investment from Macquarie Capital in April 2025, has acquired DPS for an undisclosed sum.
DPS, established in 2009 and based in High Wycombe, is a specialist provider of clean water and wastewater pumping services across the UK, including installation, maintenance, repairs and emergency support.
Metcor’s portfolio encompasses pumps, electrical and environmental divisions serving multiple sectors across the UK.
It provides maintenance, repairs and upgrades at locations including commercial and industrial facilities such as offices, warehouses, fulfilment centres, factories, energy plants, shopping centres, out-of-town retail parks and government premises.
The group is headquartered in Gravesend and has sites at Stockport, Leigh, Kempston in Bedfordshire, Rainham in Essex and Maidenhead.
Laura McMorland said: “We were pleased to assist Mike and Jason on the sale of Direct Pump Services to Metcor Group – it is particularly pleasing to support clients through successful exits. We wish the business all the best for its continued success.”
A team at Cheadle Hulme-based corporate finance firm The Camlee Group, led by Andrew Prigg, also advised Mike and Jason on the transaction.
Camlee managed the process from initial document preparation through to completion, including negotiation of deal terms, coordination of due diligence and support throughout the legal process.
Metcor was advised by a team at law firm Gosschalks led by Paul Plaxton and a team at RSM UK led by Mark Leyland.
Mike Shaw said: “We are incredibly proud of what we’ve built at Direct Pump Services together with our customers. Joining Metcor marks an exciting new chapter, aligned with our values and commitment to quality service delivery.
“We’re confident this partnership will strengthen our offering and create new opportunities for our customers and, in turn, their clients.
“Our thanks go to Andrew Prigg and Camlee for their support throughout the process.”
Andrew said: “I am delighted to have led The Camlee Group in advising the shareholders of Direct Pump Services on their successful sale to Metcor Group and Macquarie Group.
“This milestone reflects the collaborative efforts of all involved, and I wish the DPS team every success as they embark on their next chapter.”
