Business, Brains & Banter Virtual Tutorial with Award-Winning Events Planner, Liz Taylor

Liz Taylor, CEO of event management company, the Taylor Lynn Corporation (TLC), will lead a virtual tutorial with event management students and business professionals on June 16, 2020, from 7-8pm. The session, called Business, Brains and Banter will cover topics around the future of event management, how to keep motivated during the pandemic and thoughts on how the wider hospitality sector can recover from the impact of coronavirus.

Organised in association with Dr Zeyad Abualhamael (Zee), head of Project Square One and fellow lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University, the hour will include a detailed discussion around how Liz has utilised her 35 years of event management and business experience to sustain her successful event management company through these difficult times.  Looking at why employing skills such as diversity, creativity and innovation has enabled her to develop new business opportunities, and importantly, why Liz feels these will also help students and graduates through the challenging months ahead.

Designed originally to support graduating students in Manchester, by demand the session is now available for business professionals, UK and international students who are looking for some inspiration and motivational advice from an experienced event planner.  Visit: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/106778724038 for information on how to book a FREE place. Attendees are invited to send their questions for Liz to answer in a Q&A session. Please email your questions to [email protected]. Questions will be accepted until June 12,2020.

Liz Taylor added: “Having spent three years studying event management, many students now face a bleak outlook.  The coronavirus pandemic has decimated the event industry, and yet, I remain hopeful that we can bounce back.  But the resurgence won’t come by chance. I have had to draw upon my reserves of resilience and explore new opportunities to keep my business alive. I firmly believe that students will need to be just as creative.

“As an industry, we cannot allow these graduates to become the lost generation of event professionals.  I feel a sense of responsibility to give them optimism, a little of my passion and some of the tools with which to build a future in the industry.  Business, Brains and Banter is a first and positive step towards this.”

Dr Zee Abualhamael (www.drzee.org.uk) added: “Conducting and hosting such virtual tutorials is essential and considered as a wake-up call for participants.  With a background in project management, organisational behaviour and leadership, I will be discussing with Liz the importance of using hard times to develop and boost your personal skills.

“Not just that, but also addressing the challenges in dealing with uncertainty, maintaining excellent relation with clients and leading high-performance teams that think and behave optimistically.  With Liz’s fantastic experience, this series of tutorials comes after more than three years of collaborating with Liz and her excellent student feedback record.”

Liz Taylor is an award-winning event management professional (www.tlc-ltd.co.uk) and businesswoman, as well as a successful media commentator, motivational speaker and consultant for hospitality brands (www.liz-taylor-consulting.co.uk). TLC has worked with some of the biggest names in corporate life and showbusiness, to produce events across the UK and Europe.  Founded in 1995 by event entrepreneur Liz Taylor and her industry partner Dianne Lynn, the company went from strength to strength with a successful team that was to last until 2008, when Liz managed an amicable partnership buy-out.  That same year TLC bucked the recession by topping the £4M turnover mark.
