National law firm Clarke Willmott LLP has acted on the sale of five rural and leisure sector events for client Fortem International.

The events portfolio, acquired by global events, data and media platform Arc, includes Farm Business Innovation and Holiday Park and Resort Innovation.

The acquisition by Arc, backed by investment funds managed by EagleTree Capital, will add additional depth and reach across the expansive UK agriculture sector with the events becoming part of Arc’s Agriconnect business, one of the UK’s largest agricultural information and events platforms.

Simon Smith, partner in the corporate team at Clarke Willmott led the deal for Fortem International. He said: “We were delighted to advise Fortem International once again on a significant transaction in the events sector, having previously acted for the group on the sale of a portfolio of healthcare environmental and marketing technology shows in 2019 to Apiary capital backed Roar Techmedia.”

Tom Borthen, CEO of Fortem International, said: “We are pleased to be entering into a partnership with the Arc team, and are excited for the growth potential of the rural and leisure portfolio as it becomes part of Agriconnect and Arc.

“Once again, Simon Smith at Clarke Willmott stepped in to act with the necessary speed and shrewd solutions to meet a tight deadline with aplomb. Overall, we are delighted with Clarke Willmott’s contribution.”

This is Arc’s second acquisition as it continues to develop its position as a next generation events and media platform for B2B communities around the world.

Clarke Willmott is a national law firm with offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, London, Manchester, Southampton and Taunton.
