International law firm CMS has advised the Greater Manchester Pension Fund (GMPF) on its sale of Number 8, First Street in Manchester to Ashtrom Properties UK Limited, a property investment firm led by Guy Lewinsohn. This £82 million sale represents the largest office deal in Manchester this year.

Number 8, First Street comprises 170,000 sq ft across six floors and has been awarded an “excellent” Grade A BREEAM rating. The building’s tenants include Gazprom, WSP and Odeon.

Nathan Jansen, CMS Partner comments: “We are delighted to support the GMPF on this strategic sale. The transaction demonstrates the continued interest in prime office locations in UK regional cities. Given our firm’s strong presence in Manchester and Sheffield, CMS is well-placed to advise clients on significant transactions across the North of England.”

The CMS team was led by Nathan Jansen (Partner) and Shabina Shaikh Nazar and Stephanie Adjepong (both senior associates in CMS UK’s Real Estate Transactions team).
