Employers across Greater Manchester are being invited to support a new Job Guarantee scheme launching in Spring 2026, aimed at helping young people gain valuable workplace experience while supporting business growth.
The Growth Company is bidding to deliver the scheme, subject to a competitive tender process. Part of the wider Youth Guarantee, the initiative will offer six months of paid work experience to young people aged 18 to 21 who are currently receiving Universal Credit and actively seeking employment.
Participants will work 25 hours per week in fully subsidised roles, meaning there are no payroll costs for employers. Businesses will also receive dedicated support throughout the process, including a simple onboarding journey and ongoing guidance during the placement.

The scheme is open to organisations across a wide range of sectors including digital and technology, construction, engineering and manufacturing, hospitality, retail, marketing, business administration, education and financial and professional services.

By offering placements, employers can access emerging talent, bring fresh ideas and perspectives into their teams and build a future pipeline of skilled employees, with the potential to convert successful placements into permanent roles.

The initiative also aims to help reduce youth unemployment across the region and provide young people with a clear pathway into sustainable employment.

Employers interested in offering a placement or learning more about the Job Guarantee scheme are encouraged to register their interest with the Growth Company.
