Beever and Struthers, Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors, announces the retirement of John Jones, Head of Corporate Finance, on 30 September 2025, after 28 years with the firm – 26 of those as a partner.
John joined Beever and Struthers in the mid-1990s and became a Partner in 1999. Over the decades, he has played an instrumental role in shaping the firm’s Corporate Finance offering and contributing to its strategic direction and growth. He is widely respected across the North West professional landscape, having built strong relationships with legal, banking, and advisory firms throughout the region. As a past board member and chair of pro-manchester, current vice-president of the Manchester Business Group of Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce and a founder member of the Partner Steering Group when The Growth Company’s Business Growth Hub was established, John has also played a central role in the development of the city’s professional services ecosystem championing collaboration, innovation, and business growth.
“As a trusted adviser, John has led with integrity, insight, and a dry wit that makes him as respected personally as he is professionally,” said Maria Hallows, executive partner at Beever and Struthers. “He’s seen the firm through major changes and growth, and his contributions to both our culture and client service standards are immeasurable. We thank him for his leadership, wisdom, and loyalty and wish him every happiness in his next chapter.”
As John prepares to step back from professional life, the corporate finance team will now be led by Dean Curtis, who rejoined the firm in 2021 and was promoted to partner earlier this year. With over 18 years’ experience in dealmaking, Dean continues the team’s commitment to delivering practical, high-impact advice to clients.
Reflecting on his retirement, John said: “It’s been a privilege to be part of Beever and Struthers for so many years. I’ve had the opportunity to work with exceptional people, see the firm grow, and support clients through some of the most important decisions of their business lives. I’m proud of the many deals we’ve delivered, and the relationships built along the way. I’m leaving the corporate finance team in very capable hands and look forward to spending time on new ventures and enjoying a bit of well-earned rest.”
John’s retirement marks a significant moment for Beever and Struthers, which now counts 18 partners across its growing national footprint. As the firm continues to invest in new leadership and capabilities, it remains committed to delivering high-quality advice that blends technical excellence with a personal, values-driven approach.
