Gateley names new Manchester head

Legal and professional services group, Gateley has appointed Paul Jefferson to lead its Manchester office. The office employs around 200 people from its city base in King Street.

Paul, a corporate partner also heads up Gateley’s national private equity team and has over 25 years of corporate transactional experience. He takes over from Rod Waldie who was announced as Gateley’s new CEO on May 1.

Paul commented: ‘I’m delighted to accept this new role and represent Gateley in the North West. These are challenging and uncertain times, but I’m surrounded by an extremely resilient, enthusiastic and dedicated group of people. Together, we remain committed to delivering further successful growth in our business in the North West and I’m privileged to be able to lead that drive forward.”

Rod Waldie, CEO of Gateley, said: “This is an important year for the team in the North West as Gateley celebrates ten years in Manchester. Paul is a determined and capable pair of hands to steer our Manchester team and is looking forward to getting stuck into the role in addition to leading our private equity team. He’s a great person to hand over the reins to and I wish him every success.”

In addition to appointing a new office head, Gateley have also announced a new partner hire in its Manchester commerce, technology and media team.  Andrew Rankin joins from DAC Beachcroft where he spent over 13 years.  Andrew will advise clients on commercial transactions, information technology, data privacy and all service related matters.
