GM4Women Mayoral Hustings – delivering for women and girls

13th July 2026, 11:24 am

Location: Peel Hall, Peel Building – University of Salford, Greater Manchester
Tickets: Reserve here

Which mayoral candidate is likely to deliver the best outcomes for women and girls across Greater Manchester?

Come and ask the mayoral candidates how they will address the needs of women and girls in Greater Manchester. Your interest might be because you are a woman, have a woman in your life, think it’s important for policy makers to address women’s interests and concerns, or because you work in a relevant area.

Please cIrculate this invitation across your networks. We are hoping to attract (and will reserve seats for) residents/voters from all ten boroughs in the room, so it is truly representative.

All candidates for election to the Greater Manchester Mayoral By-Election on 30th July 2026 have been invited to attend this meeting. It is your opportunity to meet them and hear their responses.

GM4Women2028, convened by Helen Pankhurst CBE in 2018, is a critical friend to GMCA. The project has scrutinised women and girls’ experience in five thematic areas:

  • Employment (i.e. economic factors)
  • Safety (in the context of violence against women and girls)
  • Participation (particularly political engagement)
  • Education (including subject choices and apprenticeships)
  • Culture & Active Lives (women’s participation in the arts and physical activity)

We invite your questions on these broad areas.

We are asking people to submit their questions at registration. We will not be able to take questions on the day due to time constraints. You can enter your question below after your registration details.

This is a standalone event happening at the University of Salford. You only need to register for one ticket for the borough you live in, not also for Salford.
