Invite to ‘Road to COP26’ flagship event: Friday 8th October at RHS Bridgwater, Salford

30th September 2021, 7:20 am

The Department of Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is supporting a domestic COP26 campaign to engage businesses and organisations across the country ahead of COP26 in Glasgow in November.

An electric ‘battle bus’ is touring the country on the way to Glasgow and will stop at flagship locations across the Northwest promoting action on climate to businesses and communities. The roadshow will visit the Northwest between 29th September and 13th October and will stop at four locations to participate in events which will engage audiences on focused topics.

GMCA will be hosting one of these events on the afternoon of Friday 8th October at RHS Bridgewater. The event includes a tour of the newest RHS site in the country, along with speakers and presentations on the UN Race to Zero. An online webinar for each hub region will be promoted after the event: Net Zero Carbon Essentials.

We are inviting organisations to attend this event, which will also include a networking opportunity as well as the chance to learn more about decarbonising your organisation, hearing from those who’ve already started the journey to net zero.

The event will be opened by Pam Smith, Chief Executive of Stockport Council and lead Chief Executive for Green City Region
