Leonard Cheshire COVID-19 Update
26th March 2020, 4:37 pm
The current coronavirus crisis poses unprecedented challenges. We know this more than anyone, as we continue to deliver the very best support we can despite enormous pressures.
We know this is an uncertain time for everyone, and now more than ever it is important for us to work together in adaptable and innovative ways. The safety and wellbeing of people we support, our staff and volunteers, is of utmost importance as always. We are also working with our programme delivery partners and funding partners to use our resources in the best way possible. It is critical during this period of isolation that we find ways to continue to safely engage with each other, to ensure no one is lonely, or without critical support to lives as independently as possible.
Please visit our website www.LeonardCheshire.org where we will be updating on ways you can get involved or find additional support.
Our senior clinical staff, together with senior managers from key frontline teams, are closely monitoring the situation daily. We continue to follow official government guidance, putting in place new measures as quickly as possible. Including from Monday 23 March, reducing access to our residential services to be limited to staff and other essential visitors.
How are you coping? Do you have disabled relatives or friends that need extra support at this challenging time? Please share your thoughts with us on our social media channels or contact us [email protected] – we’d love to hear from you.
