London Tech PR Firm Resonance Invests in Manchester’s £5 Billion Tech Economy with New Office and Jobs

20th May 2025, 9:33 am

Resonance, the B2B technology communications consultancy headquartered in London, has announced the opening of a new office in Manchester this month, expanding its national presence to support the region’s booming technology and fintech sectors. The company is immediately creating four new roles, including the appointment of a Northwest native to lead the expansion.

Founded 14 years ago by Claire Williamson, former lead of EMEA communications for NEC and Tom Fry, an investment banking technology developer, Resonance has built its reputation on translating complex technology narratives into compelling stories. This technical insight has proven particularly valuable for several high-growth Manchester tech firms the consultancy has already been supporting over the past three years, including companies in the region’s enterprise software sectors. The new permanent office represents a strategic deepening of the company’s commitment to the Northwest, where it plans to expand its client portfolio.

Claire Williamson, Managing Director at Resonance comments, “Manchester is full of ambitious tech businesses building the systems, tools, and platforms that will shape how we all live and work. We’re already working with some of the most exciting challengers in the region. This new base allows us to bring our expertise close to a hotbed of action and talent, helping the brands of the future cut through, earn influence, and drive the outcomes that matter.”

Manchester is the UK’s fastest-growing tech and fintech hub outside London, with over 10,000 digital and tech companies, contributing £5 billion to the regional digital economy. Its fintech sector alone adds £1 billion to the national economy, driven by rapid growth in AI, payments, open banking, and cybersecurity.

Hiring to deliver impact from day one

The new Manchester office will be led by Laura Cameron, who re-joins Resonance as a Senior Manager and Northwest Lead. A Northwest native, she brings extensive experience in technology communications, having previously worked with Resonance’s London team before continuing her career with a Manchester-based agency. Laura’s return to Resonance creates a natural bridge between the London headquarters and the new operation.

Resonance is actively recruiting for three new roles in Manchester, who will work with our London-based team and network of offices across Europe and the US:

Senior Account Executive – 360 Communications (Media Relations Focus)

A key role for a communicator with 2–3 years’ experience and strong media instincts. Responsibilities include pitching stories, securing coverage, and helping shape strategic media plans for high-growth clients in tech and fintech.

Storytelling Account Executive

An opportunity for a sharp writer and critical thinker to join Resonance’s storytelling team. The role involves shaping messaging and developing content across web, thought leadership, and campaign platforms.

Social Media & SEO Manager – 360 Communications

A hybrid role combining social and search. Ideal for someone who knows how to create and optimise content for digital performance, audience growth, and measurable engagement.

These hires will join a growing international team that has delivered campaigns for clients across enterprise software, AI, data, cybersecurity, and fintech. Resonance has grown consistently year-on-year.

The team includes former journalists, analysts, and ex-technical professionals, including developers with experience in global financial institutions, giving Resonance the edge and ability to understand and communicate complex tech narratives with authority and clarity.
