See the Gay Village awash in a sea of colour. Hear the roar of a community coming together. This August bank holiday, Manchester Village Pride returns to its roots for a weekend of pure celebration, visibility, and authentic community spirit.

We are bringing Pride back home to the heart of the Gay Village. Run by the community, for the community, this year’s event is about celebrating our progress, embracing our safe spaces, and remembering exactly where we came from.

The Parade: Visibility and Joy

The iconic Manchester Village Pride Parade will weave through the city centre, a vibrant display of solidarity and joy. From glittering floats to local community groups marching side by side, the parade is a powerful, visual celebration of the journey we’ve taken and the rights we’ve won. Expect the streets to ring with music, cheers, and the unmistakable, welcoming spirit of Manchester.

The Village: A Weekend of Celebration

Across the weekend, the Gay Village transforms into the ultimate festival of queer culture. Experience brilliant fringe events, live performances, independent street food, and venues overflowing with music and dancing. This is our neighbourhood, bursting with the energy of thousands of people celebrating their authentic selves.

The Candlelit Vigil: Reflection and Remembrance

As the weekend draws to a close, the thumping bass gives way to a profound, shared silence. The Candlelit Vigil in Sackville Gardens is the beating heart of Manchester Village Pride. Under the flicker of thousands of candles, we stand shoulder-to-shoulder to remember those we have lost to HIV/AIDS, to honour the trailblazers who paved the way, and to reflect on our shared history.

For the pro-manchester community and local professionals, this is a unique opportunity to stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community and experience the authentic, grass-roots soul of our city.
