Commercial law firm Kuits has secured a variation to the licence which covers the public realm at First Street, the central location of this year’s iconic Manchester Pride festival.

Earlier this year, the Homeground site at First Street, as part of HOME arts centre, was announced as the location for Manchester Pride Live, an event which will see headline performers on a main stage.

The variation granted following the work of the Licensing Team at Kuits will allow for large and medium sized events to take place within the Homeground site on First Street moving forward.

Head of Licensing Felicity Tulloch and Senior Associate Rebecca Ingram worked with both the Council’s Licensing and Out of Hours Team and local Councillor Joan Davies to agree the variation.

Rebecca said: “The variation to the licence of First Street secured allows for events of more than 5000 people to take place within the designated public realm area, providing a significant new space for large scale events to take place within the City.

“We are delighted to have assisted in bringing this new, larger capacity venue space to Manchester and for Manchester Pride Live to be the first event – a celebration that never fails to excite year on year.”

Manchester Pride Live will take place on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th August.
