‘Young people need careers support more than ever. In a recent survey from the Prince’s Trust more than a quarter of young people (29%) feel their future career prospects have already been damaged by the coronavirus pandemic and 46% say that finding a job now feels “impossible”. The options and choices that young people may have had before may be different due to the changing labour market.

Bridge GM needs you to inspire young people about your workplace, share your insights into what young people need and need to do to succeed in the workplace, and offer ‘real-life’ projects to give young people the opportunity to experience the world of work.

You will be part of shaping an innovative and virtual approach to the Meet Your Future work shadowing campaign to respond to the impact of Covid-19 on young people. Meet Your Future Work shadowing campaign was launched by the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, in April 2019. Meet Your Future delivered over 700 work shadowing opportunities to young people across Greater Manchester, in a variety of different business environments, to help them learn about different roles and careers and to gain first-hand experience of the wold of work.
