I’m Alice, a Legal Recruitment Consultant at William James Recruitment, specialising in Insurance and Costs. I collaborate with leading law firms and legal professionals, guiding them through the recruitment process to secure top-tier talent. Before joining William James Recruitment, I gained valuable experience working in Early Careers and HR teams at prestigious law firms across Manchester.

2. Career highlight

A career highlight of mine has been making the transition from working in Early Careers / HR within law firms to joining William James. This move marked a significant shift in my professional journey, allowing me to expand my skill set and take on new challenges in a different industry. This shift has not only helped me grow professionally but also personally, as I’ve gained new insights and experiences.

4. What’s the best thing about pro-manchester

Pro-Manchester offers a great platform to connect with like-minded professionals and broaden my network within the business community. The events are always fantastic – I recently attended the MIMA awards, which were absolutely brilliant.

5. What are your priorities for 2025

In 2025, my focus will be on growing my client base in the insurance and costs sectors, staying ahead of industry trends, and further strengthening long-term relationships with both clients and candidates. On a personal note, I’m also training for the Manchester 10k

6. What do you think are the most important things going on in Manchester at the moment?

Manchester is going through an exciting transformation right now, making it one of the most exciting cities to be in right now. New apartment blocks popping up all over the city show just how many people want to move here. Big investments in things like the Old Trafford stadium redevelopment and the makeover of the Manchester Arena are proof of how much the city is growing and changing. These projects, along with others, are totally reshaping the place.

7. Favourite meeting place in Manchester

Albert Schloss for drinks, and for a meal, I enjoy one of the restaurants in Spinningfields

8. Are their any particular types of businesses that you would like to meet

I’d love to connect with Insurance firms, and law firms specialising in costs litigation. These industries are growing rapidly, and I’m always eager to explore new opportunities for collaboration.
