Member Spotlight: Alice Hanson, Corporate Sales Manager – Gusbourne

I’m Alice and I am the Corporate Events Sales Manager for Gusbourne, England’s most awarded winery. Part of my role is to create private corporate experiences down at our vineyard in Kent, from intimate groups for client entertainment, to team summer parties, or winter away days. We have an amazing team of hosts at the vineyard who will take you on a tour of the estate, before you experience a tutored tasting of award-winning wines, paired with a seasonal three-course lunch. We also have some beautiful outdoor spaces in the vineyard where we can host alfresco lunches in the luscious vines.

Another part of my role is hosting corporate wine tasting events in offices, or private venues. It is a great addition to a networking evening, or again entertaining clients or colleagues in your office. We can provide our corporate partners with preferential rates on all of our wines for events, tastings or gifting for clients and colleagues.

Outside of work, I am always sampling sparkling wines from other English wineries, and when I get the chance, I like to visit vineyards at the weekends and walk my dog through the vines.

Career highlight: Joining Gusbourne was a dream come true for an English wine lover! I was able to join my passion for wine with my vast corporate event experience, into the dream position.

Name three words that describe your personality: This is always a difficult question! I like to say that am I a very friendly person (love to meet new people constantly). I am passionate about what I do and invest my time in, and I am a very positive person, always try to see the bright side.

What’s the best thing about pro-manchester? The best thing about pro-manchester is being able to widen my network with contacts I would never have been able to meet being based in London – everyone is so friendly in Manchester!

What are your priorities for 2024? See more Gusbourne in the hands of pro-manchester members! Would love to host more wine tastings in such an incredible city, and celebrate over a glass of English bubbles.

What do you think are the most important things going on in Manchester at the moment? The new rooftop bar opening with Vita Group, of course!

Favourite meeting place in Manchester: Reserve Wines at Mackie Mayor, great place to meet for a glass of wine. Or, The French if I’m celebrating something special.

What types of business would you like to meet? Luckily wine covers multiple industries so I am excited to see the array of companies that I meet and engage with in 2024, and hopefully form numerous promising partnerships.
