23rd December 2025, 8:49 am
I’m Andy, founding partner of our Manchester office and head of corporate finance for MHA, managing one of the largest corporate finance teams in the North West.
Career Highlight:
A clear highlight for me was being crowned the Rainmaker of the Year Award in 2023. This award in particular is extremely significant as nominations are made by peers within the industry, so being acknowledged in this way was a huge honour.
Name three words that describe your personality:
Driven, Principled, Fair
What’s the best thing about Pro-Manchester?
It’s difficult to select one as several come to mind, notably the diverse mix of firms who are members, having such variety offers great perspectives and views.
The events and topics covered are always topical, relevant and incredibly insightful.
Finally, I would have to say that being a member is incredibly beneficial in profile raising.
What are your priorities for 2025?
Having created a hugely successful blueprint for MHA’s M&A offering in Manchester and the North West, I want to continue to grow the team on a national level, whilst also creating a centre of excellence in Manchester to power this wider national team and then ultimately internationally alongside our global colleagues as part of the global Baker Tilly International Network.
What do you think are the most important things going on in Manchester at the moment?
For more than a decade now Manchester has passionately led with ambition with regards to devolution and the drive to evolve local decision making. This is only going to continue to be a key priority for the city and beyond as other areas in the UK look to Manchester as an example of how devolution can and should be done.
Additionally, I am seeing the continued development of the financial community into an ever more powerful financial centre. This is being aided by the introduction of technology hubs and talent eco-system to power this.
Finally, working directly in the city centre, it is clear that homelessness continues to remain a real issue to which I am yet to see a meaningful solution to resolving.
Favourite meeting place in Manchester and why?
A favourite destination of mine would have to be the City Arms for a pint in the sun of a summer evening.
What types of businesses would you like to meet?
The North West boasts a wide spectrum of business types. At MHA we typically work well with businesses at an inflexion point where there is a key point of change.
Our reach, culture and service delivery across the mid-market / owner managed space means we are seeing a wide range of opportunities hence there is no ‘one size fits all’ and we focus on those clients where we believe we can make the biggest difference and add the most value to them.
