Introduce yourself
I’m Colin Wildman, a Senior Employee Benefits Consultant with Pareto Financial Planning. I work with employers to design, implement and review employee benefit programmes, helping organisations support their people while ensuring they achieve value for money. My areas of focus include workplace pensions, group risk, healthcare, and wider employee wellbeing benefits.
Career highlight
I’m most proud of the long-term relationships I’ve built with clients over the years and the opportunity to help employees better understand and engage with their workplace benefits. I’ve worked with organisations ranging from SMEs to FTSE 100 companies, helping improve financial wellbeing and retirement outcomes for their people. Along the way, I’ve had some memorable experiences, including delivering presentations at Buckingham Palace.
Name three words that describe your personality
Approachable, pragmatic, and reliable.
What’s the best thing about pro-manchester?
The quality and diversity of its membership. Pro-manchester provides an excellent platform for building meaningful relationships across the region’s business community, sharing knowledge, and creating opportunities for collaboration.
What are your priorities for 2027?
To continue supporting employers through the evolving employee benefits landscape, particularly around financial wellbeing, healthcare, and retirement planning. I’m also looking to further develop my network across the Northwest and help more organisations maximise the value of their employee benefits spend.
What do you think are the most important things going on in Manchester at the moment?
Manchester’s growing influence on the national stage is particularly exciting. The establishment of No. 10 North demonstrates the city’s increasing importance as a centre for decision-making, alongside continued investment, regeneration, and business growth. Combined with its strong professional community and ability to attract talent, Manchester continues to strengthen its position as one of the UK’s leading economic centres.
Favourite meeting place in Manchester
The Midland Hotel is always a great choice due to its central location and professional atmosphere. For more informal meetings, the cafés and hospitality venues around Spinningfields provide a great setting.
Are there any particular types of businesses that you would like to meet?
I’m keen to meet business owners, HR professionals, and finance leaders from organisations of all sizes who are looking to enhance their employee value proposition. I have a particular interest in speaking with growing businesses that want to use workplace benefits to support employee wellbeing, attract talent and improve retention.
