Member Spotlight: David Berwick, Founder and Director of Adria Solutions

I’m David Berwick, Founder and Director of Adria Solutions. I’ve worked in the recruitment industry for 26 years and, while it’s had its challenges, I’ve genuinely loved almost every minute of it. I first fell into recruitment at Computer Futures (part of the S3 Group) as a resourcer and have never looked back. I started Adria Solutions to do things my own way, and although it’s been a journey of ups and downs, it’s been incredibly rewarding.

Outside of work, I’m a devoted husband to my wonderful wife-also my best friend-and a proud father of four amazing children. We also share our home with two lively dogs. At weekends, I’ve dedicated my time to coaching numerous football teams over the years, which has been a fantastic way to unwind and stay connected to the community.

Career highlight

A real career highlight has been partnering with over 500 companies to support their growth and aspirations. I’ve also loved working closely with candidates- helping to change lives and build lasting careers. Many of my clients and candidates have become lifelong friends, which has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my journey in recruitment.

What’s the best thing about pro-manchester?

The best thing about pro-manchester is the community it creates. It brings together like-minded professionals, opens doors to valuable connections, and provides a platform to share knowledge and ideas. For me, it’s not just about networking-it’s about being part of a supportive business ecosystem that genuinely helps people and companies grow.

What are your priorities for 2026?

My priority for 2026 is evolution. Like many industries, recruitment is rapidly changing in response to economic challenges and the rise of AI. I’ve embraced this shift and evolved Adria Solutions to ensure we are future-ready-positioning the business to thrive over the next 5 to 10 years and continue delivering success for our clients and candidates.

What do you think are the most important things going on in Manchester at the moment?

Manchester is undergoing huge transformation, with AI and digital innovation driving growth as the city positions itself as a European leader in tech. Major projects like the £1.5bn Mayfield masterplan, Victoria North’s 15,000 new homes, and the Trafford Wharfside regeneration are reshaping communities, while the Bee Network improves sustainable connectivity. Alongside these, new cultural and community spaces, plus sports-led regeneration around Old Trafford, are boosting the region’s appeal. Together, these developments are creating opportunities for businesses, scale-ups, and talent, reinforcing Manchester’s reputation as a thriving hub for innovation, growth, and community.
